John Gammaitoni - Certified Personal Trainer and Coach

John Gammaitoni comes to Fitness Together with over twelve years of experience in the fitness industry. He graduated from Penn State University in 1997 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science. While at Penn State, John completed a 600-hour internship working with the Strength and Conditioning Staff. Part of his responsibilities included designing, implementing, and modifying strength and conditioning workouts for all the varsity athletic teams including the football team.

John's passion for fitness started at a very young age as he was involved in many sports as a young kid. He realized that in order to be competitive and succeed, he needed to work hard and get in better shape through strength and cardiovascular training. John has carried these same principles into his personal training/conditioning specialist profession. He believes that everyone has the potential to reach their fitness goals no matter how lofty they may be. People must understand that they must be fully committed to a life-style change in order for it to happen though. Positive results are only achieved through hard work and believing in what you're trying to accomplish. If a person isn't willing to set out reasonable goals for themselves, they're setting themselves up for failure.

John is truly motivated to work with anyone that wants to make a positive change in their well-being. He looks forward to meeting you soon!

Dana Casanave

Hi I’m Dana, 27, wife and mother of three children. I spent pretty much my entire child hood and early adulthood dealing being overweight and out of shape. I used to avoid exercise at all costs and finally after years of being unhealthy decided I had to change and do it the right way. No more yo-yo dieting, no more avoiding. I was ready to get serious! Looking back I have to say that was probably one of the best decisions of my life. When I started out I couldn’t run a mile and never ever thought I would grow to actually enjoy exercise. It has been challenging, and there have been plenty of times when I have been frustrated, feeling like I’ve put in a lot of work and not always seeing the results I expected. Still, I have found peace with the scale in knowing that more important than the number it shows is the difference I have made in my life. Being healthy and wanting to continue to challenge myself to new levels and pursue new goals is more than enough motivation to keep going.

As a result, running has become my passion. I have run almost a dozen half marathons and 4 full marathons. I’m currently training for the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. this October. I never would have thought I would be a runner. I used to hate to run! It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you don’t put limits on what you body is capable of doing. Keep pushing for your goals, and you will achieve the unthinkable.
